Kohakutou is a Japanese candy made from Agar Agar seaweed/sea-moss, sugar, syrups and purees. While drying, this candy develops a crunchy layer on the outside but still remains jelly-like on the inside.
Agar Agar is a vegan plant based gelatin unlike traditional gelatin which is derived from animal bones.

Ingredients: filtered water, pure cane sugar, premium agar agar, fruit purees, citric acid, candy flavoring, food coloring, lemon extract, edible gold shimmer.
If your crystals are not crunchy enough for your preference, take them out of the packaging and leave them out in a dry place for 2-3 days. The longer they stay uncovered at room temperature, the crunchier they become.
